APPENDIX X - Does the Construction Product Fall Under the Scope of the CPR?
| Step | Action |
|
Step 1 Is the product a construction product as defined under the CPR? |
See broad definition below:
|
|
Step 2 Check if a harmonised technical specification exists for that product. |
Follow the official links below to the European Commission's Single Market Compliance Space to check the active registry of Harmonised European Standards (hEN) or European Assessment Documents (EAD):
EU No 305/2011 - https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/single-market-compliance-space/#/notified-bodies/harmonised-standards
EU No 2024/3110 - https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/single-market-compliance-space/notified-bodies/harmonised-standards
If a product falls within the scope of an active harmonised standard, the product may be CE Marked from the “date of applicability” of the standard and MUST be CE Marked from the date of the end of the co-existence period. |
|
Step 3 Check the application date of the specification and the end of the co-existence period. |
Note: The date of the end of the co-existence period is identical to the date of withdrawal of conflicting national technical specifications, after which any presumption of conformity must be based strictly upon harmonised European specifications. When a harmonised technical specification is officially replaced with an updated version, both versions of the specification can be utilized for the purpose of executing compliance assessments and affixing the CE marking, but only until the formal end of the designated coexistence period. Past this window, the older reference loses its legal status.
